[My encounter with Leatherman]

I first encountered a Leatherman when I was working as a mechanic on an oil drilling ship in my previous job. The American mechanics there had a Wave+. It's common knowledge among mechanics that it's best to use specialized tools for maintenance. However, I think everyone has had the experience of needing a pair of pliers or a Phillips head screwdriver. With this palm-sized toolbox, you can get the job done.

Since then, I have also purchased and used the Wave+, and there have been many times when I have thought to myself, "I'm glad I have it."

1. Bicycle repair (I couldn't fix the flat tire because I couldn't turn the valve with my fingers, but I had pliers so I was able to replace it)

2) Rope cutting (the knot in the rope was too tight and could be cut with a serrated knife)

3) The snowboard binding was loose (I managed to get down by tightening it as much as I could with pliers)

・Fire starter

Fire starters are not yet well known in Japan, but in the United States, where outdoor activities are more serious and popular, they are well known enough that various companies manufacture them.
This item can be used to create a starter fire by rubbing the back of a Signal saw against the ferrocerium part, an alloy of iron and cerium, to generate sparks and ignite dead leaves and other objects.
If you're in an emergency and don't have a lighter or it's wet and unusable, Signal will help.

・Distress whistle

The distress whistle is integrated into the opposite side of the ferrocerium part.
The high-pitched sound, set at a frequency easily audible to the human ear, can effectively let people know your location.
It has become an essential item for disaster prevention in Japan as well.

- Removable diamond coated sharpener

The removable diamond-coated sharpener allows you to easily improve the sharpness of your knife by resharpening (touching up) it when it becomes dull.
It's not a difficult job, but if you can't do it yourself or if the sharpness has deteriorated and cannot be improved by touch-up, please leave it to us.

Other notable points are:

• It is equipped with a hammer, a feature previously only available with US military-spec MUTs.
• The wire cutter part is equipped with a replaceable 154CM, which is a heavy-duty product with high hardness and excellent cutting ability.
• Equipped with a large bit driver that improves versatility, a feature only available on higher-end models.
