The Wave+ and Signal are packed with features and just holding them gives me a sense of security. However, they are quite heavy, weighing around 240g. This weight makes me hesitate to take them to the mountains.

[My encounter with Leatherman]

I first encountered a Leatherman when I was working as a mechanic on an oil drilling ship in my previous job. The American mechanics there had a Wave+. It's common knowledge among mechanics that it's best to use specialized tools for maintenance. However, I think everyone has had the experience of needing a pair of pliers or a Phillips head screwdriver. With this palm-sized toolbox, you can get the job done.

Since then, I have also purchased and used the Wave+, and there have been many times when I have thought to myself, "I'm glad I have it."

1. Bicycle repair (I couldn't fix the flat tire because I couldn't turn the valve with my fingers, but I had pliers so I was able to replace it)

2) Rope cutting (the knot in the rope was too tight and could be cut with a serrated knife)

3) The snowboard binding was loose (I managed to get down by tightening it as much as I could with pliers)

This is a tool that I would definitely recommend not only to those who work on site, but also to those who participate in outdoor sports that require gear.
