Leatherman Wave+

I first encountered Leatherman in my previous job as a mechanic on an oil drilling ship. The American mechanics there had this very Wave+. It's common knowledge among mechanics that it's best to use specialized tools for maintenance. However, I think we've all had the experience of needing just a pair of pliers or a Phillips head screwdriver. With this palm-sized toolbox, you can get the job done.

I later purchased the Wave+ and have been using it ever since, and there have been many times when I'm glad I have it.

1. Bicycle repair (I couldn't fix the flat tire because I couldn't turn the valve with my fingers, but I had pliers so I was able to replace it)

2) Rope cutting (the knot in the rope was too tight and could be cut with a serrated knife)

3) The snowboard binding was loose (I managed to get down by tightening it as much as I could with pliers)

This is a tool that I would definitely recommend not only to those who work on site, but also to those who participate in outdoor sports that require gear.
