[Manager's comment]
A new item for Fall/Winter 2025, this base layer shirt is made from a blend of yak hair and wool.
Until now, Yak products have been very delicate and required dry cleaning and "long-term wear may cause the garment to lose its shape, so please let it rest after wearing it for a day."
However, this shirt is made with a 50% wool blend, which means it can be washed at home, making it even easier to use and a very welcome update.
Yak hair is so smooth to the touch that everyone says it feels amazing. Not only is it superior, it's also 30% warmer than wool (cashmere level) and 30% more breathable than cashmere. That's right! It's perfect for the outdoors! And now it's even more advanced when combined with wool.
This is your go-to winter base layer!

Our store offers undyed (undyed) colors so that you can enjoy the natural color of yak hair.
[Size]
The manager is 170cm tall and weighs 68kg, and wears a size S (although it is quite loose).
I was able to wear the M size without any discomfort, but if I were thinking of it as a base layer, I would choose the S. However, if it's loose and you're thinking of wearing it around town, the M size is perfectly fine. It's really a matter of preference!
[Quote from manufacturer]
Wearing winter fur from yaks that live in high altitudes
It is extremely comfortable to wear and envelops you in gentle warmth.
While using natural materials in outdoor wear, we discovered that yak has a wonderful quality that is different from sheep's wool.
Yak natural hair is a rare material that is not mass-produced like sheep's wool.
From among these, STATIC chose the one from Tibet.
Yak hair, which lives in more mountainous areas, would be a good match for our outdoor tendencies.
This intuitive encounter led to the development of a lightweight and functional product.

[Characteristics of Yak Hair]
Unlike sheep, which have undergone many breeding improvements since the Industrial Revolution, yaks are primitive bovine animals that originated in Tibet.
Yaks live year-round in alpine grasslands at altitudes of 3,000 to 6,000 meters in places like Tibet and Nepal, and in winter they are active just below the snow line. Yaks are known for their excellent cold tolerance. To survive the long winter, they grow downy hair as winter approaches and shed it in the spring.
Nomads collect these and wash them to produce high-quality raw materials. Nowadays, like cashmere, they are carefully combed by hand. This method is ethical because, unlike sheep, the wool is not sheared from the entire body and there is no need for mulesing.
Yak down can be harvested every year, but only about 100g to 300g can be obtained from one adult yak. Compared to sheep's wool, which weighs about 4kg, down is extremely rare. The Tibetan yak hair used by STATIC is harvested at a rate of approximately 100g from each yak. The amount harvested is limited to avoid over-harvesting and to avoid stressing the yak.
*Mulesing is the practice of removing the skin and flesh from a lamb's genitals to prevent maggot infestation.
