[Manager's comment]
Say goodbye to lost hats! This merino wool cap with earmuffs is recommended for those who do a lot of winter activities. Made with merino wool, known as a natural air conditioner, it regulates humidity, temperature, and prevents odors, so you can wear it comfortably all day long. It's great that you don't have to worry about the inside of the hat getting stuffy and smelly! It also lets in a fair amount of air, so it may be a little chilly in strong winds when you're stationary.
[Difference from Power Stretch]
There is a similar product, a cap that uses Power Stretch, but the differences are summarized below:
>>>The Grid Merino Earmuff Cap is designed for active people who are always on the move.
It is highly breathable, allowing air to pass through and allowing a lot of steam to escape.
Due to the characteristics of the fabric, it is not completely windproof. It is intended for use in winter. It allows a moderate amount of air to pass through the head, allowing moisture to escape and preventing overheating. It is not as windproof as synthetic fleece.
>>>The "Power Stretch Earmuff Cap" is for those who prioritize warmth.
It allows a fair amount of moisture to escape and has excellent heat retention and quick-drying properties.
[Quote from manufacturer]
When creating this product, we wanted to create a cap that completely covers the head, ears, and back of the head, making it feel like you're being gently wrapped up in a sheep.
1. Low fuzz and soft texture
Merino wool is classified into various grades based on the fineness (fineness) of the fibers in the yarn that makes up the fabric, and this fineness is expressed in μm (micrometers).
This time, the Merino Basic Tee uses a very delicate 17.5μm (micrometer) yarn called "Super 120's", which gives it a soft texture with very little of the "itchy feeling" that is typical of wool.
The inside is brushed like fleece, which traps a lot of warm air. It is also knitted in a grid pattern, allowing moisture to pass through the gaps in the grid efficiently. It is a highly functional material with excellent heat retention and breathability.
2. Made with New Zealand Merino
The use of New Zealand Merino wool is proof that the wool is "non-mulesing wool." "Mulesing" refers to the removal of the skin and flesh from the rump of a lamb to prevent the sheep from becoming infested with maggots.
3.100% merino wool yet washable.
The fabric has undergone several shrinkage prevention processes to minimize shrinkage after washing.
However, as it is a natural fiber, some shrinkage and warping will occur. Please refer to the care instructions below to ensure that you can use the product for a longer period of time.
4. If the product size is larger than your head size (head circumference) or if you are in a situation where the hat is easily affected by wind, you can adjust the size by pulling the plastic tab on the back and tightening the elastic.
5. The earmuffs are designed to be deep and wide, so they completely cover the ears, back of the head, and nape.
6. The fabric of the earmuffs is different from that of the main body, but this is because the fabric is folded twice with the inside out, creating a double layer. This allows the soft fleece side to touch the ears, and keeps the ears and back of the head warmer than a single layer.
7. COOLMAX® fabric is used for the sweat-proof area.
Made of 100% polyester pique material, it is quick-drying and has UV protection (UPF 40+).

[Manufacturer description]
RIDGE MOUNTAIN GEAR is a manufacturer of tools that simplify your time in the mountains and your daily life leading up to it.
It all started when I started making mountaineering equipment for my own use. As I made various tools with my sewing machine, more and more people started saying they wanted them, so I started a brand within the scope of what I could do myself.
