This new, thick base layer is made with STATIC's much talked about Octa x Wool AYUKAN yarn, released for Fall/Winter 2024. The layer facing the skin is made of pile, like being wrapped in a fluffy bath towel, allowing for more air to escape. While the pile's benefits are best enjoyed when worn as a base layer, it can also be worn on its own, making it a great mid-layer.

Men: 170cm / 67kg Recommended size: S (just fit) or M (relaxed).

I can wear both the S and M sizes without any problems. I'm having trouble deciding.

When worn as a base layer, size S is just right and size M is relaxed.

When worn as a mid-layer with an All Elevation jacket underneath, the S size is tight and the M size is just right (although that's just my opinion).

Octa® x Wool "AROUSAL" series is born

STATIC focuses on design twisting technology and uses "AYUKAN" yarn, which is made by twisting wool into hollow, undyed Octa® yarn. AROUSAL has created a thick base layer fabric with a pile interior. The lineup includes relaxed-fit shirts perfect for winter base layers and hiking.

Twisted yarn is yarn made by twisting multiple threads together. There are hollow hand-knitted threads made from a single type of thread, and threads made by twisting different types of thread together, such as polyester and wool.

Furthermore, the hardness and strength of twisted yarn changes depending on the number of twists, so it is a highly skilled technique to carefully adjust the twist while imagining the final result, and to perfect the twisted yarn through repeated trials. Furthermore, twisted yarn that has been brushed or processed into a special shape is called "designed twisted yarn."

Among twisted yarns, fancy twisted yarn requires special techniques, and in fact there are several companies in Japan that have excellent techniques for fancy twisted yarn.

Many maison brands make clothes using never-before-seen fabrics, and many of these have the backing of Japan's advanced technology. The special twisted yarns, which are not usually used in mass-produced goods and require time and effort and cost, are the result of pursuing techniques unique to Japan, and are a unique know-how that Japan can be proud of.

- Be careful not to catch on Velcro or branches

- The length may shrink slightly (approximately 1cm) after the first wash.

- After washing, lay flat to dry

- Do not use fabric softeners, as this can reduce wool's natural water repellency.
